Lawrence Andrew “Larry” Shields Jr., 82, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025. Born on December 14, 1942, in Salem, Mass., Larry lived a full and meaningful life as a son,
brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many.
Larry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, working in communications. He moved to Lodi, Wis., where he lived the majority of his life and worked as a steam fitter until he retired. He spent
his free time with family, building computers, and chatting with his fellow HAM radio operators, Silent Key - WD9ESU.
Larry’s love for his family, his quick wit, which always made you laugh, and his curiosity about the world will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
A man of many roles and titles, Larry will be remembered most as a loving family man, a dedicated veteran, and a friend whose presence left an impact on everyone he met.
Larry is survived by his children, Jenniffer Shields, Darren (Cindy) Shields, Curt Shields (Kathy), Mark (Barb Stafford) Shields and Kimberly Shields; grandchildren, Chelsea (John) Porter, Richard (Grace) Rott, Joe Capadona, Samantha (Nick) Caravello, Kailey (Paul) Karls and August Shields; great-grandchildren, Jackson Rott, Marlo Peters, Josephine Porter, Amelia Rott, Greyson Caravello and Owen Karls; sisters, Brenda Shawen, Carol (Tony) Kaufman; Brothers, Greg (Sherry) Shields and Tim Shields (Lisa); and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline (Shields) Kincaid; father, Lawrence Shields Sr.; mother, Gertrude LaBelle Shields; and brother-in-law, John Shawen.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025 at the WADDLE INN, N1430 Highway 113, Lodi, WI 53555, from 1 pm until 4 pm.
