Obituary
COTTAGE GROVE - Priscilla (Normington) Brown, lovingly known as Pug, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025, after a three-year battle with cancer. Pug was born in Madison, the daughter of Laurence and Helen Normington. She married the love of her life, Ed Brown, on September 19, 1956. Together they had three children, Aaron, Bambi and Chris. They loved to dance. Man, could they jitterbug!
Pug was a kind, gentle and caring soul. She made everyone who entered her home feel welcomed. She enjoyed hosting gatherings in her beautiful home. She took pride in her home, decorating for every season, especially Christmas. She was known for her collection of snowmen and had 88 on display last year.
In her younger years, she was an avid bowler. She loved flowers and her garden was her happy place. She also enjoyed fishing and was a dedicated Brewers fan. She enjoyed playing board games, cards and especially Yahtzee. At age 85, Pug would sit on the floor to play with her great-grandchildren. For many years she was known as the “child whisperer,” providing childcare for family members and friends, some of whom still share fond memories. Pug was also an excellent cook. It gave her comfort that no guest left hungry. She was especially famous for her lemon rum cake.
Pug is survived by her son, Aaron (Pam); daughter, Bambi (Ed); daughter-in-law, Lisa; grandchildren, Andrea (Melvyn), Brandon, Jenna (Jerry), Jessie and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Jalen (Abby), Taylor, Kaylee, Avery, Bella, Piper, Ahmyr, Amen, Gigi, Kandon, Zayvier and Tatum; brother, Steve (Chris); sister-in-law, Rita; special cousin, Trauta; and special friend, Sally. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed; parents, Laurence and Helen; son, Chris; granddaughter, Jessie; brothers, Jim and Rich; sister, Barbara (Bob); niece, Angela; and nephews, Tim and Todd.
A celebration of life will be held at MESSIAH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5202 Cottage Grove Road, Madison on Friday, January 9, 2026, with Rev. Jeff Vanden Heuvel presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. with the service beginning at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow.
Memorials may be gifted in Pug's name to Make-a-Wish Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
