Obituary
June L. Julseth (Lewis), age 97, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026. She was born June 13, 1928, in Stoughton, Wis.
June grew up on a farm in Stoughton (Rutland Township) with her parents. She had a love for animals and had two favorite horses which she named Molly and Billie, her dog named Shep, a favorite cow named Buttercup and several cats. She learned how to play the piano and guitar from her father and often enjoyed playing for the family. She lived and worked in California for a brief time but missed her family in Wisconsin and moved back home.
June was married on June 30, 1953, to the love of her life Rolland “Rollie” Julseth. She worked at various office jobs in Madison including The Public Service Commission, WPS, Old Seeds and The Swiss Colony. June enjoyed many vacations, traveling to the east coast and out west, especially to California and Colorado with her husband and two daughters. She and Rollie’s favorite vacation spot was Hawaii. They traveled to the Aloha State 15 times. June was a long-time member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison, Wis.
June is survived by her two daughters, Nancy (Mark) Lovell and Mary (Darrell) Gulseth; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Agnus Lewis; and her husband, Rollie.
A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 12 noon on Monday, June 1, 2026, with Pastor Todd McVey presiding. A luncheon will follow the service at the funeral home. Immediately after the luncheon a graveside service will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Stoughton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
