Obituary

OREGON - Burt Boldebuck, age 93, of Oregon, Wis., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 19, 2026.


Burt was born on November 15, 1932, to Frieda and Otto Boldebuck in Elmhurst, Ill. Burt married Barbara Kruger on February 14, 1959, in Elgin, Ill. They moved to Plover, Wis., in 1977, then to Oregon, Wis., in 2020.


Burt served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Sentry Insurance Company in 1995 after 37 years.


Survivors include two sons, Burt Jr. (Tara) of New Glarus, Wis., and Jon (Jacy) of Oregon, Wis.; three grandchildren, Calvin (Annie), Annaka and Hannah; and 19 nieces and nephews.


Burt was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three older brothers, Irvin (Helen), Earl (killed in World War II) and Lester (Marge); and three sisters, Ruth (Ray) Lorenz, Lois (Ray) Smith and LaVerne (Joe) Capasso.


A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 12 noon on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Burial will be held at LAKEWOOD MEMORIAL PARK, Elgin, Ill., at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

Hi Burt and Jon: I'm so sorry to read of your Dad's passing. I remember with much joy growing up on Carol Avenue with you and going to your basement where your Dad helped me get the Citizenship in the Nation merit badge for Troop 14. We have been going through pictures from my parent's collection and here's one attached of your Dad and your Mom in our backyard for some picnic. Recognize the others??
