Richard Sidney "Dick" Molitor

December 15, 1941 - February 17, 2026

Obituary

STOUGHTON - Richard Sidney "Dick" Molitor, age 84, of Stoughton, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at UW Hospital and Clinics. He was born on December 15, 1941, in Henderson, Minn., the son of Raymond and Eva Molitor.

Dick proudly served in both the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army from 1957-1963. He was stationed in Vietnam after being transferred to the Army. Dick was united in marriage to Sheryl Eggler in 1967 and they raised four children together. Dick worked for 28 years at Oscar Mayer, then in security, before retiring.

He enjoyed classic cars and motorcycles, especially his Goldwing with the side car, and spent many hours working on them. He appreciated his time outdoors, especially on warm days, wearing shorts and flip flops or fishing on Lake Wisconsin.

Dick was known for his sense of humor and his love of telling a good joke and playing pranks on his fellow friends. He loved playing poker and other games with friends and family and when Polka music started to play, he was quick to the dance floor, often taking Sheryl with him for a dance or two. Their dance moves even earned him an unexpected award. He took great pride in his elaborate Christmas light displays each year, which became well known in the community and once drew attention from the local newspaper.

Dick is survived by his children, Tammy Molitor Dahlke, Dawn (Doug) Reeves, Bradley (Ellen) Molitor and Christopher (Carolyn) Molitor; grandchildren, Matthew (Casandra) Molitor, Rebecca Reeves, Ryan Reeves, Jacob Reeves, William Reeves, Brooke Molitor, Justin Molitor, Dominic Molitor, Grace Molitor and Mary Molitor; and great-granddaughter, Naomi Reeves. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Eva Molitor; five siblings; and his ex-spouse, Sheryl Eggler Molitor.

Graveside services will be held at Wheeler Prairie Cemetery, 598 Tower Drive, Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Dick was always a fun guy to have around. We always enjoyed time spent with him when Larry and I visited, or when they came to the farm. I especially remember the time he spent helping us tear down the old house on the farm to make way for DuWayne's new one - Dick was the strongest one among us and loved to show off how he could do it faster! His presence among us will be missed. We will be thinking of you on Mar 20. Love, Aunt Nellie Eggler

Dick was so much fun to be around. He had a humor all his own. We met and worked at Oscar Mayer many years together also, were security guards at the same businesses. He was best man at my wedding. What a great guy. I prey for him and his family.🙏
