Obituary

MCFARLAND, WI - Marvin J. “Marv” Schrader, age 75, of McFarland, WI, passed away on June 10, 2026. He was born on November 14, 1950, in Marshfield, WI, the son of the late Marvin John Schrader Sr. and Margaret Hannah Adella (Poppy) Schrader. In 1955, the Schrader family moved to Sturgis, MI.


Marv lived a life of passion, curiosity, and creativity accomplished with drive and adaptability. He graduated from Tri-State University, Angola, IN. Over the years his career consisted of teaching, supervisory, and managerial positions. His community involvement activities consisted of McFarland Sons of American Legion, McFarland Cub Scouts, Young league sports, McFarland E. D. Locke Public Library, Village of McFarland Inspections, and McFarland Community Food Pantry.


Marv was an avid Detroit Lions fan, a genealogist, a lover of long hikes in nature, and always willing to help others. He was a Mr. Fix it; he could either fix it or figure it out. He enjoyed Golden Oldies music and first-generation Ford Mustang cars.


Marv is survived by his special friend, Donna Olin; his pride and joy (tell them I really love and miss them) his children, Kristi (Chad) Nettrouer of Bremen, IN, Abi (Jeremy) Flora of Bremen, IN and Dane (partner, Kendra) Schrader of Madison, WI; Jordan Crisman; his grandchildren; his sister, Carol Margaret Steiner of Weidman, MI; nieces, nephew, other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael John Schrader; and sisters, Marie Ann Frohriep-Grams and Barbara Jean Mobley.


In keeping with Marv’s wishes, no service will be held.
