Uncle Bob I’m so grateful for all of our family memories, especially all the weekends in Madison with our family’s together. From the magic Sunflowers, to the anticipation of your catch of the day trout fishing with my dad; to what seemed to be a mysterious basement that had the coolest collections from Star Wars and Star Trek. The blue hats you and my dad wore working in various home improvement projects to the evenings of Saturday night live, these memories I will forever cherish. I love you very much. Janet Olsen-Ianno

Bob and I met early in the Soglin years through collaborative legal work on projects of shared interests among the City of Madison and clients of mine, and we soon became close personal friends, with many lunches, conversations, and shared hours enjoying the Goose Island Ramblers, Butch Thompson, and Bix Beiderbecke recordings; and Beth and I treasured numerous family events with Bob, Carol, Julia, and Laura. I deeply regret that our paths after retirement did not converge; I often think of Bod, and just yesterday, before learning that he had passed, I spoke fondly and admiringly of him with another close friend from those old days. Such a fine person! My warmest thoughts and feelings are with Carol, Julia, Laura, and the entire family.
