Obituary

MIDDLETON - Barbara S. Moseng (Bruce), age 88, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026, at Attic Angel in Middleton, Wis.

A woman of deep faith, Barb was actively involved in the life of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Middleton. She shared her time and talents with many dear friends through the bell choir, Martha’s Circle, Monday Prayer Group, and numerous church committees. She was always willing to lend a hand, offer encouragement, and care for others with kindness and grace.

Barb had a sharp mind and a warm heart. Professionally, she played a vital role at The Bruce Company, serving as office manager and a board officer. Over more than 50 years, she dedicated herself to the family business and contributed greatly to its success while caring deeply for its employees and customers.

She was an avid bridge player and rarely passed up an opportunity to gather four people around a card table. She had so many lovely friendships that were built and strengthened through countless games.

Barb and Mo enjoyed many happy years wintering in Naples, Fla., and treasured their time traveling and making memories with their family.

Above all, Barb was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a constant source of love and encouragement to her family and a true friend to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. Her family takes comfort in knowing she lived a full and meaningful life and was ready for rest. Her legacy of faith, love, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Attic Angel and Agrace Hospice Care for their skilled and loving care, as well as the friends whose visits, support, and companionship brought Barb joy.

Barb was preceded in death by her husband, M.J. (“Mo”) Moseng of 59 years; her parents, Leonard and Lorraine Bruce, and her brother, Lee Bruce. She is survived by her daughters, Laura (Jim) Maher and Lisa (Tim) Carey; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Maher (Eric Blodgett), Christina (John) Murray, Julia Carey and Peter (Madison) Carey; her sister, Beth (Tom) Francois; her sister-in-law, Shirley Bruce; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A memorial service will be held at ST. LUKE’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 7337 Hubbard Ave., Middleton, at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026, followed by a luncheon at the church. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.

Our thoughts & sympathy go out to Barb's family & loved ones. I loved listening to the bell choir at St Lukes! It was because of Barb that I worked temporarily during the spring rush at the Bruce Co. I would regularly laugh with Barb, telling her that it was just enough of a job to remind me that I didnt want a job! Working a few weeks in the spring at the Bruce Co was wonderful & Barb made it special. Rest in peace girl. You definitely deserve some rest. Priscilla (Brumm) Meinholz

I don’t think that Barb considered me her physician, but I could be wrong. What I do remember is that when her father was dying (ie Leonard), she came to me and asked if I would assume his medical care. And I agreed. And what stays with me is how dedicated, honest, and caring she was about him, as well as to the many others around him. There is one memory that I would love to share, but not sure that I could do so without her permission. But it represented great love for her Dad and for her family and friends. I was inspired but also humbled. Pax Tecum, Barb!
