SUN PRAIRIE - Donna Jean West, age 75, of Sun Prairie, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at UW Hospital. She was born on July 18, 1951, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Charles and Bessie (Dennison) West. Donna grew up in Stoughton, Wis., before moving to Florida to pursue her career at Dade Christian School and New Testament Baptist Church (NTBC).
Donna graduated from Stoughton High School in 1969 and later earned her associate degree in Data Processing from MATC. She began her career in data entry at Dade Christian School/NTBC in 1974, where she worked faithfully until her retirement in 2013. Over the course of nearly 40 years in Florida, Donna made many dear friends before moving back to Wisconsin to be near her family.
Donna was a woman of deep and steadfast faith, and her family and faith were the most important parts of her life. She treasured time with her family and created many lasting memories with those she loved. In her free time, Donna enjoyed socializing with her community of friends at Colonial View Apartments in Sun Prairie, simple pleasures that brought her much joy. She also loved gathering with family around the holidays and coordinating fun activities for everyone to enjoy.
Donna is survived by her brother, James (Phyllis) West; her nieces and nephews, Jason (Laura) West, Angela West, Stephanie (Rhonny) West, Jimmy (Molly) West, Meghan (Brad) West and Chad (Lisa) Zimmerman; her sister-in-law, Jean Johnson (wife of late brother Chuck) as well as many grandnieces and grandnephews, other relatives, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Chuck West.
A memorial service will be held at GRACE BAPTIST CHURCH, 1801 South Thompson Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026, with the Rev. Mario Gonzalez presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, with a fellowship/luncheon following the service. A private burial will take place at a later date, with Donna laid to rest in her family plot at Prairie Mound Cemetery in Oregon, Wis.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the transplant unit at UW Hospital for their compassionate care, kindness, and support shown to Donna and her loved ones over the past few years.
Donna will be forever missed, and we will always treasure the memories we shared with her.
