MAZOMANIE - Debra R. Hellenbrand, age 74, of Mazomanie, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. She was born on May 6, 1952, in Madison, the daughter of Melvin and Delores (Meixner) Schulenburg.
Debra grew up in Middleton and graduated from Middleton High School. She met the love of her life, Daniel “Dan” “Helm" Hellenbrand, through Dan’s sister. The two were united in marriage on November 6, 1971, at St. Francis Xavier. Debra and Dan shared 54 wonderful years of marriage and were blessed with two daughters.
Debra was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed helping others and taking care of her family. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and watching them play sports. Her faith was important to her, and she was a member of the Christian Mothers. She was a fan of the Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers, and Chicago Cubs, and she had a special love for dogs.
Debra is survived by her husband, Dan; daughters, Joy (Scott) Yingling and Tracy (Nick) Bartlett; grandchildren, Charlotte Yingling, Kaitlyn Yingling, Aspen Price, and Addison Price; as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Alfred Stucki Sr.; sisters, Sharon and Connie; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rosemary and Gene Garfoot; and sister-in-law, Marie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. Burial and luncheon will follow at St. Francis Xavier. Visitation will be held at the church from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026, and also from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Tuesday.
