MADISON - Amber Marie Gordon, age 43, of Madison, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, August 30, 2026. She was born on March 7, 1983, in Madison, the daughter of Larry and Wendy (Marks) Gordon.
Amber graduated from Pecatonica High School in 2001. Throughout her life, she found joy in caring for others, working in home health care and also as a lifeguard.
Amber had a deep love for the outdoors and cherished the simple moments that made life special. She enjoyed fishing, swimming, camping with her son, and sitting by the lake with a good book. She had a lifelong love of animals, especially her beloved dog, Flash. She also took great joy in caring for her fish tanks.
Amber had a wonderful sense of humor and loved sharing movie quotes, often bringing laughter to those around her when they needed it most. She enjoyed listening to music and going for walks. She had a natural ability to make friends wherever she went and was always willing to lend an ear to anyone who needed someone to listen.
Above all, Amber was a caring and giving person. She was always willing to help others, whether she knew them or not. She would greet people with a smile and tell them to have a great day, leaving a little kindness wherever she went. Her warm heart, laughter, and generous spirit touched the lives of many.
Amber’s sudden passing has left a deep and lasting hole in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be remembered for her kindness, her sense of humor, her love of family and animals, and the happiness she brought to those around her. She will be deeply loved and dearly missed.
Amber is survived by her beloved son, Caleb Burger; her father, Larry Gordon; her brother, Jason (Mellisa) Gordon; her sister, Tayler Gordon (Josh Bartels); nieces Grace, Emma, and Eliza Gordon, and Adria and Pryia Bartels; and her longtime friend, Robert Huffar.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Wendy Gordon; and her grandparents, Donald and Arlene Marks and Maynard and Dorothy Gordon.
A celebration of Amber’s life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared once arrangements have been finalized.
