Obituary
Stoughton - Lyall Parker Eng, age 91, of Stoughton, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Skaalen Nursing and Rehab. He was born on December 10, 1934, in Utica, Wis., the son of Martin Olson Eng and Adella Josephine (Hamre) Eng.
Lyall graduated from Stoughton High School in 1952. On October 5, 1963, he married Elaine Johnson in Rio, Wis. Lyall served his country in the U.S. Army from April 1957 until April 1959. He enjoyed a 37-year career working as a project engineer for Uniroyal, retiring in 1996.
Lyall was a long-time member of the American Legion and West Koshkonong Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking, making home improvements, drafting, drawing and building. He was a baseball and football fan and was known for his sense of humor and enjoyment of making jokes.
Lyall is survived by his wife Elaine; daughters, Fonda (David) Kapitan, Brenda Eng-Rankin, Linda (John) Watson and Lorna Eng; grandchildren, Kaitlin Kapitan (Jonny Fischer), Kim Kapitan (James McGinty), Madison (Zach) Dercks, McKenzie Rankin and Mason (Alexa) Rankin; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
A funeral service will be held at West Koshkonong Lutheran Church, 1911 Koshkonong Road, Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026, with Pastor Eric Bakken presiding. Burial will be held at West Koshkonong Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
