Obituary
MONONA - Our beloved country girl passed away on September 1, 2026. Lois Jean “Grandma Jeano” (Fessel) Morris was born in Avoca, Wis., on December 30, 1944. Jean was born and grew up on a small farm in Avoca that nurtured a lifelong passion for horses and country life. She showed her love through cooking and baking for family and friends. Jean was selfless with her time, volunteering through church and the Luke House, supporting those in need.
She was united in marriage to Terry Morris on June 1, 1974. She took great pride in taking care of her large blended family and adding to her wide circle of friends while living in Richland Center, Monona, Pardeeville and Sun Prairie, Wis. Through her many years of work at Super Value in Richland Center, Kohl’s Grocery Store on Park Street in Madison and Village Drug Pharmacy in Pardeeville, she led by example, highlighting her work ethic.
Jean is survived by her five children, Deanna (Storms) and Jerry Ewert, Dawn (Storms) and Mitch Marks, Brian and Michele Storms, Kathy (Morris) and Oleg Ivchenko, and Angela (Morris) and Raymond Parpart; 12 grandchildren, Brandon (Kaycee) Marks, Derek (Kristine) Marks, Jenna (Billy) DeVault, Courtney (Deke) Bradley, Samantha (Sean) Ewert, Ashley (Jason) Storms, Grace (Brady) Storms, Eric (Amanda) Storms, Max Ivchenko, Sophia Ivchenko, Desmond Parpart and Levi Parpart; and eight great-grandchildren; brother, Jim (Clare) Fessel. She is preceded in death by her husband, Terry; parents, Erich and Reva (Rakow) Fessel; infant brother, Bruce; and beloved cousin, Judy Lidicker (Krause), who was like a sister to her.
A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
