Obituary
Lodi - Steven Clark Smith, age 89, of Lodi, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at UW Hospital and Clinics. He was born on July 21, 1937, in Beaver Dam, Wis., the son of Marvin Smith and Susan (Meyer) Smith.
Steven graduated from Wayland Academy in Beaver Dam in 1955 and later earned his associate’s degree at Madison Area Technical College. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. In his younger years, he loved raising beef cattle. Steven enjoyed a career with the Department of Transportation, working as an electrician technician. He retired early so he could spend more time with his cherished son. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating on Lake Wisconsin.
Steven is survived by his son, Steven Walter (Jocelyn) Smith; granddaughter, Sloane Smith; and sister, Dinah Calhoun. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Smith; and partner, Susan Hoogland.
A funeral service with Military Honors will be held at Gunderson Lodi Funeral and Cremation Care, 157 S. Main St., Lodi, at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
