I met Joan many years ago as a young man fresh out of high school, when I worked for a short period at the UW lab she was employed at. I am the younger brother (Tom) to her very dear and long time friend, Linda Frentzel. I will remember her witty sense of humor and kindness. My deepest sympathies to her family.

We have had the greatest joy living next to Jacque & Joan for the last 7 years. I always told her that our friendship that was created brought so much happiness, laughter and love into our lives, it’s what people dream of in neighbors! I never took our friendship for granted. She was an extraordinary person! Always honest, nonjudgemental, empathetic, hilarious, and always, a heart that listened. We will miss her beautiful smile and laughter and our ‘friendship fence’ will never be the same. She will always be a one-of-a-kind friend
