Obituary
MADISON - Patricia May Miller, age 92, of Madison, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026, at her home. She was born on May 3, 1934, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Michael and Gertrude (Flesch) Harrington. Patricia graduated from St. Raphael Elementary School and from Madison Central High School, with the class 1952.
On January 5, 1957, she married Gerald “Jerry” Miller. They had three children, Jennie, Linda and Jeff. Pat was working for the Motor Vehicle Department, but quit to stay home and raise her children. She returned to the State of Wisconsin system in 1972 and wound up working as a library assistant at the Memorial Library on the UW-Madison campus prior to her retirement in 1997.
Patricia enjoyed reading and enjoyed discussing politics. She was very supportive of her children and all their activities. In her retirement, she cared for her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and made swimming and water aerobics a priority to maintain her health. She was a good storyteller, loved watching the Packers, and enjoyed being surrounded by nature, especially flowers and bird watching.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Miller; son, Jeff Miller; grandchildren, Eric (Becca) Slavens and Miranda Therrian; great-grandchildren, Alison and Alexis; sisters-in-law, Lila Harrington and Elaine Harrop; and a special niece and God Daughter, Ramona Gasser. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Miller; parents; daughter, Linda Miller-Slavens; brothers, Ronald Harrington and James (Mary Ellen) Harrington; and sisters, Delores Harrington and Mary Jean Garrison.
Private family services will be held. She will be buried next to her husband at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in Middleton. Memorials may be made to your favorite charity in Patricia’s name. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
