Obituary
LODI - Judy A. Buchanan, age 83, of Lodi, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026.
She was born February 22, 1943, in Portage, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Barney and Ann (Alme) Wickham. Judy married Robert “Bob” Buchanan on February 3, 1961, at First Lutheran Church of Lodi. Together they shared a life of work, travel and family devotion.
Judy began her working career with the Lodi Canning Company and also worked as a waitress at Club Sunset and Rustic Inn. She then was employed with DHI in Madison and in later years helped her husband and then her son Robbie by keeping records as secretary for Bob's Digging and Landscaping before her retirement. She delighted in knitting and crochet and sharing her creations with family and friends, playing cards-especially euchre-and planning the annual New Year’s Eve euchre party. She also enjoyed bingo and traveling with Bob throughout the United States, spending winters as “snowbirds” in Texas.
Judy is survived by her children, Robbie (DeeDee) Buchanan, Tina Kallenbach, and Joe (Taffy) Buchanan; nine grandchildren, RJ, Chelsea, Max, Eric, Cassandra, Miranda, Tiana, Della, and Jace; six great-grandchildren; her sister, Cristi (Roland) Maier; her brother, Ronald Oimen; sisters-in-law, Eileen Wickham, Diana Wickham, Karen Wickham, and Peg Wickham; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob in 2022 and four brothers, Byron “Butch,” Allen, Virgil, and Billy Wickham and son-in-law, Steve Kallenbach.
Funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON LODI FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 157 S. Main St., Lodi, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026, with Rev. Dan Pulsfus presiding. Burial will be at County Line Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, and again from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday.
The family extends a “special thank you” to Agrace Hospice, Dr. Rian Podien and clinic staff, and Judy’s caregiver Stephanie Dublin for their compassionate care.
Judy’s steady presence, warm laugh and thoughtful hands-whether knitting a cozy blanket or dealing a friendly hand of cards-brought comfort and joy to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by family and friends.
