Obituary
MADISON - Carolyn Sue Schwenn, age 85, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on August 2, 1941, in West Frankfort, Ill., the daughter of Leon and Gladys (Stone) Wright.
Carolyn graduated from Frankfort Community High School in 1959. She married Albert Schwenn on July 14, 1965.
Carolyn was a hardworking and devoted woman whose strength, kindness, and dedication to her family were evident throughout her life. She spent her entire professional career at General Casualty, where she took great pride in her work and formed many lifelong friendships. It was there that she met the love of her life, Albert.
Carolyn's greatest joy was caring for her family, always putting their needs before her own and surrounding them with love. She also had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, which brought her comfort and happiness throughout her life.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Douglas (Nancy) Schwenn and Kim (Carl Pearson) Schwenn; grandchildren, Tony Nelson, Danny Schwenn, Joey Schwenn and Carrie Lee Schwenn; great-grandchildren, Benji Schwenn, Owen Nelson and Olivia Nelson; and sister, Brenda Pike. She is also survived by Albert’s two children from a prior marriage, Valerie Schwenn and Clark Schwenn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; parents, Leon and Gladys; brothers, Curtis Wright and Richard Wright; brother-in-law, Michael Pike; sister-in-law, Pearl Louise Wright; and all of Albert’s siblings.
A private family service was held as requested by Mom.
