MADISON - Chase Thomas Best, age 29, of Madison, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026. He was born on February 14, 1997, in Eau Claire, the son of Carissa Sundstrom and Thomas Best.
Chase graduated from Baldwin Woodville High School in 2015. He was the proud owner and operator of his own trucking company, Best Trucking LLC.
Chase had a passion for fishing, traveling, skydiving, and seeking out new adventures. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the Los Angeles Lakers. He had a special love for animals, especially his beloved dog, Marni, and his snake, Slimeretta, who are now lovingly being cared for by family.
More than anything, Chase was someone others could always count on. He had a generous heart, was always willing to lend a helping hand, and took great care of the people he loved. He was an incredible uncle who brought joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories to his nieces and nephews. His adventurous spirit, kind heart, and unwavering loyalty will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Chase is survived by his parents, Carissa (Raymond) Sundstrom and Thomas Best; dog, Marni Best; sister, Darien Best; brothers, Elijah Richardson, Ethan Sundstrom, Ray Ray Comer, Gavan and Austin Best ; nephews, Chance, King and Miles; nieces, Kaliyah, Janiyah, Oaklynn, Monroe and Mona; maternal grandmother, Mary Ganong; maternal grandfather, Savin Sundstrom; paternal grandmother, Valerie Best; paternal grandfather, Thomas Best; aunt, Jamie (Jake) Corey; uncles, Brody (Carlie) Sundstrom and Justin (Carrie) Best; special cousins, Alyssa, Simone, Devon and Kyara; god mom, Kristeena Comer; and great-aunts and uncles, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Rodney Freeman and Seth Sundstrom.
A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
