Obituary

OREGON / STOUGHTON - Janice “Jan” Lawry lived a life filled with love, kindness, generosity, and travel. She passed away at home on July 27, 2026, at the age of 91. She was a 1953 graduate of Oregon High School and married Edward Lawry in 1955.

Janice is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Steve) Lieske of Boise, Idaho and Lynn (Daniel) Finley of Sun Prairie; three grandchildren, Shannon (James) Niehoff, Devin Finley and Colleen (Drew) Adel; two step-grandsons, Tim and Michael Lieske; two great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Warren Niehoff; two sisters, Lois Linnerud and Kay Larson, and half-sister, Janet Murray; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; her parents, Calvin and Lois; and six siblings.

At Jan’s request, a private graveside service will be held at Prairie Mound Cemetery in Oregon.

Thank you to all her friends and staff at Kettle Park, in Stoughton, where she built a new life over the past five years.  While she will be greatly missed, her spirit will live on through the countless lives she touched. We will cherish her memory and strive to live with the same kindness and compassion she so freely gave to others. She will never be forgotten and may she rest in eternal peace.
