POYNETTE - Kathryn Hazard, age 79, of Poynette, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Complete Care at Maple Grove. She was born on February 25, 1947, in Austin, Minn., the daughter of Andrew and Margaret (Steinbach) Roskop.
Kathryn graduated from Austin High School. Kathryn worked as a caregiver at Central Wisconsin Center for over 30 years, where she dedicated her time to caring for others.
If you were fortunate enough to know Kathy, you knew she loved the simple things, a cup of good coffee, having a meal out with others, enjoying flowers, the craziness of dogs, and surrounding herself with friends and family.
Kathy enjoyed hosting family holiday dinners and the game time that followed. There was always a jigsaw puzzle waiting for family to complete together.
Kathy truly cherished being a Grandma. Whether enjoying a sporting event, birthday party, graduation, face timing, going to movies, baking, or a sleep over, she was up for ALL of it.
Kathryn is survived by her sons, Christopher (Michelle Kinney-Hazard) Hazard and Benjamin (Paula) Hazard; grandchildren, Riley Hazard, Sydney Hazard, Jacob Hazard and Samantha Golliher; brother, Joe (Barb) Roskop; sister, Patty Bos; special friend, Ruth; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Margaret Roskop; husband, Howard; and sisters, Rose and Barb.
Though your smile is gone forever, and your hand we cannot touch. We still have the memories of the one we loved so much. Your memory is our keepsake, with which we will never part. God has you in his keeping. We will have you with us always in our hearts.
Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026.
