Obituary
SUN PRAIRIE - Leslie Marie Campbell, age 70, of Sun Prairie, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. In keeping with her generous spirit, Leslie gave the gift of life through organ donation. She was born on December 6, 1955, in Stoughton, Wis., the daughter of Ivan and Ruby (Gleasner) Knutsen.
Leslie graduated from Madison East High School in 1974 and graduated from University of Wisconsin - Stout. She was united in marriage to Michael "Mike" Campbell on July 31, 1993, in Sun Prairie, Wis.
Leslie worked as a customer service representative for Charter Communications up until her retirement, when her true calling came to be a stay-at-home grandma.
Leslie enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. She loved to laugh, have fun, and was often the life of the party. Humble and kind, she had a generous heart and offered quiet guidance to those she loved. Leslie was a loyal and devoted friend. Many of her friendships became lifelong bonds, but these special friends were like sisters to her, Jean Lawler, Roberta Myren, Kathleen Rideout and many others.
Her family was her greatest pride and joy. Leslie was a mom and grandma to everyone, always seeing the best in others and encouraging them along the way. She loved being in Door County and going to the lake to collect rocks to “make” new projects.
Leslie is survived by her husband, Michael "Mike" Campbell; children, Amanda (Jeremy) Hanson, Jessica Lauck, Nathan (Trisha) Campbell and Nolan (Wendy) Campbell; grandchildren, Jaelyn Fields, Aubrie Fields, Madison Hanson, Brooklyn Hanson, Kehlani Gamez, Noah Campbell, Haydin (Allison) Campbell, Lucas Campbell, Raelyn Campbell and Paige Campbell; sisters, Karla (Ron) Kading and Edel (Tim Philippi) Knutsen-Philippi; and brother-in-law, Gerry Kalscheuer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Ruby Knutsen; and sisters, Shelby Knutsen, and Kaia Kalscheuer.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
