September 07, 1978 - July 23, 2026
Obituary
Amanda Leigh Thomas (née Kroes), 47, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on September 7, 1978, in Racine, Wis., Amanda lived a life defined by kindness, quiet strength, unwavering love, and devotion to those she held dear.
Amanda earned her master’s degree from Lakeland College and built a successful career as a professional accountant and controller. She was respected for her intelligence, integrity, and dedication, approaching both her career and her personal life with thoughtfulness and grace.
Outside of work, Amanda found joy in the simple beauty of life. She loved preparing meals that brought family together, tending to her vegetable garden, camping beneath the open sky, and spending time on the water. She found a special kind of peace in calm waters, watching the gentle ripples catch the sun's rays, a quiet reminder that life's greatest moments are often the simplest. Whether she was harvesting fresh vegetables for a family meal, enjoying the quiet of nature, or making memories with those she loved, Amanda embraced every opportunity to appreciate the world around her.
While Amanda accomplished much throughout her life, nothing brought her greater pride or happiness than becoming a mother. Her daughter, Leigha Pearl, was the light of her life and her greatest blessing. Amanda's love, guidance, and unwavering support will continue to shape Leigha's life for years to come. Alongside her beloved husband, Jason, Amanda created a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved.
Amanda is lovingly remembered by her husband, Jason Thomas; her treasured daughter, Leigha Pearl Thomas; her parents, Allan and Maureen (née Giese) Kroes of Mount Pleasant, Wis.; her sister, Sara (Jason) Lam (née Kroes) of Woodbury, Minn.; her brother, Sam (Taylor) Kroes of South Milwaukee, Wis.; father and mother-in-law, Russ and Sue Thomas of Mineral Point, Wis.; sister-in-law, Cheri Grover of Brodhead, Wis.; along with extended family, dear friends, and colleagues whose lives were enriched by knowing her.
Amanda's gentle spirit, compassionate heart, and steadfast love for her family leave behind a legacy far greater than words can express. Though her time with us was far too short, the love she shared will endure in the lives she touched and in the memories that will forever be treasured.
In accordance with Amanda's wishes, no funeral services are planned. In honor of Amanda's life, her family encourages those who knew and loved her to embrace the simple joys she treasured: share a home-cooked meal with family, plant a vegetable garden, spend a quiet evening around a campfire, or pause beside calm water and watch the sunlight dance across its gentle ripples. In those peaceful moments, may you remember Amanda and the love, warmth, and quiet grace she brought to the lives of others.
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever missed.
