Obituary

OREGON - Larry Leon Greenwold, age 79, of Oregon, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on January 5, 1947, in Portage, the son of Frank and Eleanor (Paske) Greenwold.


Larry graduated from Portage High School in 1965. He married Ellen (Davis) Greenwold on July 27, 1974, in Madison. Larry served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Claims Adjuster for American Family Insurance. Affectionately known by his nickname, "Feisty," Larry will be remembered and missed by everyone who knew him.


Larry is survived by his wife, Ellen; brother, Mike (Lori) Greenwold; son, Chad Greenwold; granddaughter, Briyona Greenwold; extended family through marriage, Danielle (Brian) Cheslog and Heidi (Scott) Brehm; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Gary Greenwold and Steve Greenwold.


A celebration of life with Military Honors will be held at VFW POST 7591, 301 Cottage Grove Road, Madison, from 12 noon until 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2026. Military Honors will be at 12:30 p.m.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be gifted in Larry’s name to Badger Honor Flight.
