MONONA - Sybil E. Gavins, age 95, of Monona, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026, at SSM Health-St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on October 10, 1930, in England, the daughter of Alfred and Annie (Hollyman) Prankard.

Sybil was raised in England before immigrating to Toronto, Canada in the early 1950s. It was there that she met the love of her life, Kenneth Gavins. The couple was united in marriage on October 27, 1956, and began their life together, later moving to Cleveland, Ohio.

After retiring in 1992, Sybil and Ken fulfilled their dream of moving to Sarasota, Fla., where they enjoyed 27 wonderful years in the sunshine. They shared a passion for roller skating and spent many happy years skate dancing at rinks throughout Florida. Together, they were active members of the Christian Metaphysical Fellowship and served as registered healers, finding fulfillment in helping others.

In 2019, they moved to Monona, Wis., to be closer to their loved ones. Her family was the center of her life. Sybil also had a lifelong love of animals and always welcomed pets into her home, where they were treasured companions.
