Henry Theodore Jacky Jr.

April 16, 1943 - August 04, 2026

Obituary

STOUGHTON - Henry Theodore Jacky Jr., age 83, passed away peacefully in his sleep while fighting a cancer diagnosis on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Skaalen Nursing and Rehabilitation.  He will be remembered as a loving family man who enjoyed being amongst his many friends and being the social organizer in the group.

Henry was born on April 16, 1943, in Sheboygan, Wis., the son of Henry Sr. and Leona (Medinger) Jacky. He graduated from Random Lake High School and then attended UW-Whitewater. He loved sports especially in high school (with football being his favorite).

Throughout the years, he lived in many cities and had a variety of jobs. His last job brought him to Madison in 1969 to work for Dane County Vending Company. During this time, he met his wife, Judith (Harding) Jacky. They were married in Luxemburg, Wis., in 1971. They enjoyed 55 years of marriage and raised two wonderful daughters, Jilleen Rose Jacky and Janelle Marie Jacky-Litt. Included in the family are a loving daughter-in-law, Natasha Litt and three special grandchildren, Ari, Brenna and Evan Litt.

Henry has been an active member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. He has served on committees but is known for starting the ROMEOs (Real Old Men Eating Out). Socializing with this wonderful group of men meant the world to Henry. Besides socializing, Henry loved to read, collect and sell baseball cards and sports memorabilia, and listen to a variety of music. He always wanted to do the things he loved. Travelling with Judith was a passion they both loved to do.

Besides his wife and family, Henry is survived by his sisters, JoAnn Jacky and Rita Kertscher; brother, Ken (Bonnie) Jacky; sister-in-law, Suzanne Jacky; and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Leona Jacky; brother, Robert Jacky; and brother-in-law, Melvin Kertscher.

A memorial service will be held at ST. ANN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 323 N. Van Buren St., Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026, with Father Randy Budnar presiding. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1358 Highway 51 N. at Jackson St., Stoughton, from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026, and also at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare (agrace.org) or by check to: St. Ann Conference of The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (mail to St. Ann Catholic Church, 323 N. Van Buren St., Stoughton).

Many thanks to all the staff at Skaalen who took such good care of Henry and the Agrace nurses, CNAs and other staff members who helped whenever called. Dr. Agni and P.A. Claire Kuehl were also instrumental in his care. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Judi, Jill and Janelle, you have my deepest condolences. I so understand what you are feeling and going through right now. Maybe we can smile and say that your Henry and my Louise are talking, laughing, have coffee together now?? I was glad to have seen & spoken with Henry recently. Chad and I won't forget his piece of advice for us that day. I am sorry he is gone from this world, but he is on to a better one. I am glad he went peacefully. Now any pain or discomfort is gone. That's what I keep telling myself anyways. Love from a far, Angela.
