MADISON - Patricia Ann Fisher, age 94, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Agrace HospiceCare with family by her side. She was born on April 19, 1932, in the family farmhouse in Ashton, the daughter of Clemens and Catherine (Ziegler) Hellenbrand.
Patricia graduated from Middleton High School and was united in marriage to Orval O. Fisher on May 18, 1954, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Ashton. Soon after, she and Orval moved into the Eastmorland neighborhood of Madison where they would raise their family, and she lived most of the rest of her life. She worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles until the birth of their second son, Brian, after which she devoted herself to being a stay-at-home mother.
Patricia had a passion for sewing and enjoyed traveling with Orval and her children whenever he had time away from work. As part of the Friendship Force, she and Orval traveled extensively throughout Europe. She was an active member of the VFW Post 7591 Auxiliary Color Guard and the American Legion Post 501 Auxiliary. She was exceptionally proud of her involvement marching with the VFW Color Guard, which often came in first place at state competitions. She was also the president of the VFW Auxiliary in 1991. A charter member of St. Dennis Catholic Church, Patricia was deeply involved in the Altar Society and faithfully served her parish community. She was also a proud member of the Madison Diocesan Council of Catholic Women and the National Council of Catholic Women, reflecting her strong faith and dedication to service.
Patricia is survived by her children, Cliff (Jean) Fisher, Brian Fisher and Denise (Scott) Miller; grandchildren, Reese (Maria Alejandra) Fisher, Blake (Shannon) Fisher and Desirae Fisher and Rachel and Austin Miller; siblings, Alice Nonn, Betty Martin, Marvin (Lynn) Hellenbrand, Kenneth (Jackie) Hellenbrand and Duane (Pam) Hellenbrand; siblings-in-law, Marjorie Ziegler, Joyce (Dick) Sutton and Pam Fisher; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orval; parents, Catherine and Clemens; and brothers-in-law, Dean Nonn, John Martin and Dewayne Fisher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at QUEEN OF APOSTLES PARISH, ST. DENNIS CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, with Father Gary Krahenbuhl presiding. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens in Cottage Grove. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Tuesday.
Memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare, VFW Post 7591 Voice of Democracy or Color Guard, or St. Dennis Church Masses.
