SUN PRAIRIE - With hearts full of both profound sorrow and deep love, we announce the birth and passing of our beautiful daughter, Maya Monet Hert. Maya came into the world on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 8:49 p.m. at UnityPoint Health-Meriter Hospital in Madison, Wis. Born at 21 weeks, she weighed 1 pound 1.6 ounces and measured 10.63 inches.
Maya came into our lives for two precious hours before passing away peacefully. Though her time with us was short, she spent every moment of her life wrapped in our arms, knowing only pure love.
Maya is forever loved by her parents, Kilah and Sam; and her puppies, Lana and Luigi.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Meriter for their compassionate care, as well as the team at Gunderson Funeral Home in Monona for their gentle guidance and support during this difficult time.
A private service will be held to celebrate Maya's beautiful spirit. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor Maya’s memory by performing a random act of kindness. Let her love carry forward into the world.
