Obituary
STOUGHTON - Nancy Carol Farnsworth, age 85, of Stoughton, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. She was born on April 22, 1941, in Madison, the daughter of Leonard and Almira Ortman. Nancy cherished her childhood memories growing up on a farm in Pine Bluff, where her parents owned a general store. She had a special nanny whom she referred to as her “second mom,” Hazel Williamson. Nancy’s family relocated to Madison and later to Brooklyn where she attended Brooklyn High School.
Nancy was united in marriage to Larry George Farnsworth on September 24, 1960, in Brooklyn. They shared nearly 60 wonderful years of marriage, which Nancy treasured until Larry's passing in 2020, just before their 60th wedding anniversary. Nancy worked as a hairdresser at BJ's Salon in Oregon for many years, where she enjoyed serving her clients. She enjoyed learning karate with Larry and earned her second-degree brown belt. She was a devoted member of Brooklyn Lutheran Church and sang in the church choir for many years.
She loved country life and found great joy in living on the family farm, where she raised horses. Nancy had a creative spirit and enjoyed making beautiful, dried flower arrangements, making purses and sewing. She also enjoyed road trips and traveling out west with her family and treasured the time she spent at her home in Jamaica. Nancy was a devoted mother and grandmother who dearly loved her family. She especially cherished the time she spent caring for her grandchildren.
Nancy is survived by her daughters, Lori Moll and Tami Farnsworth (Mike Hachtel); grandchildren, Celina Moll and Nathan Moll; and sister, Sandra (Ortman) Wackman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Almira; and husband, Larry.
A memorial service will be held at HOLY WISDOM MONASTERY, 4200 County Highway M, Middleton, at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 20, 2026.
