Roger L Rittenhouse

Roger Lee Rittenhouse, 65, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Complete Care Maple Grove in Madison, WI. He was born in Sheboygan, WI on December 11, 1960, to Doug and Mary (Adams) Rittenhouse.

Roger graduated from Madison West High School in 1980. He worked for Medix for many years before moving on to Jaeckle Wholesale as a truck driver, and yes, in his "retirement," Zimbrick Buick GMC, where he made many good friends. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, singing karaoke, sending his favorite nieces, Jenny and Jolene, trinkets in the mail, and he so thoroughly enjoyed his favorite drink, Mountain Dew, that he was seldom seen without one in hand. He enjoyed traveling and often reminisced about his trips out west to the mountains. He loved regaling everyone with stories of how bad a navigator his daughter was (and was quickly reminded that he was the one who couldn't find the car in the parking garage at Mount Rushmore). He often joked with his older brothers that they may have gotten all the brains, but he got the good looks. He loved to make those around him laugh.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Rittenhouse (Alban Crook) of Des Moines, IA; brothers, Jim (Debbie) Rittenhouse of Campbellsport, WI, Daryl (Kristine) Rittenhouse of Oregon, WI, and Robert Rittenhouse of Madison, WI; sister-in-law, Michele Rittenhouse of Cottage Grove, WI; step-son, Sean Monsees; and nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews and cousins; and three furry grandcats, Kalista, Kyle, and Kaspian. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Doug Rittenhouse; brothers, Steven and Stuart Rittenhouse; ex-wife, Leslie Monsees; and many furry dog and cat loved ones over the years.

The family wishes to thank everyone who helped care for him over the last few months. Thank you to the staff at Meriter and UW Hospitals and Maple Grove for all of your efforts and patience.

There will be a small service, followed by burial at Green Lawn Memorial Park, 6706 Superior Ave., Kohler, at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026. Everyone is welcome to attend.

A celebration of life will be held at the 5TH QUARTER, 161 Horizon Drive #110, Verona, WI, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, where everyone is welcome.
