VERONA - Jacklyn Diane “Jackie” Heuer, age 83, of Verona, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at UW Hospital and Clinics. She was born on April 18, 1943, in Dodgeville, the daughter of Homer and Evelyn (Reager) Wasley.
Jackie graduated from Dodgeville High School in Dodgeville. She was united in marriage to James Heuer on November 17, 1962, in Dodgeville. She worked as a purchasing agent for Thermo Fisher/Noran, retiring in the early 2000s.
Jackie was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bowling (belonging to many couples bowling leagues), going to stock car races, cooking and spending time with her family.
Jackie is survived by her husband, James; sons, Rick (Christine) Heuer and Joe (Laura) Heuer; grandsons, Benjamin (Donella) Lyans, Timothy (Kaitie) Heuer, Brent Heuer and Josh (Patti) Heuer; granddaughter, Jennifer Lyans; brother-in-law, William Heuer; and sister-in-law, Mary Baumann. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Evelyn; sisters, Joyce Finley, Betty Long and Carol Wasley; brothers, Emery Wasley and Jim "Waz" Wasley; and brothers-in-law, Thomas Heuer and Gary Heuer.
A funeral service will be held at ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 7337 Hubbard Ave., Middleton, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026, with Pastor Brian Ferguson presiding. Burial will take place at St. Luke's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
Those who knew Jackie will remember her as a warm, welcoming friend, and a great conversationalist. Her love, laughter and kindness will be deeply missed.
