Jerome G Hansen

MADISON - Jerome “Jerry” Hansen, age 85, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026, at St. Mary’s Hospital with his sister and niece by his side. He was born in Madison, Wis., on September 14, 1940, the son of George and Edith Hansen.

Jerry worked at Kipp Corporation for many years before joining American Family, where he spent 25 years before retiring.

Throughout his life, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spending weekends on his boat, boating and water-skiing on Lake Monona. Family was especially important to him, and he always looked forward to gathering with his entire family during the holidays. He had a heart of gold and always put others' needs before his own.

Jerry is survived by his son, Aaron Hansen; sister, Sue Welch; niece, Mary Sue (Rick) Olson;

great-nephews, Reid (Sara) Olson and Nick (Kayla) Olson; great-great-nephews, Roman and Sal Olson; great-great-niece, Ophelia Olson; and mother of Aaron Hansen, Carla Hansen. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gigi Hansen; and brother-in-law, Mark Welch.

A memorial service will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. A visitation will be held at Roselawn from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
