Obituary

MADISON, Wis. - Paul Anthony Hart, age 71, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at St. Mary's Hospital.


Paul was born on December 14, 1954, in Portland, Ind., the son of Francis and Marilyn (Henry) Hart. He graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1973. He married Susan (Lance) Hart on December 28, 1979, in Portland, Ind.


Paul worked as a circulation director for AIM Media. He held this same position at many newspapers throughout Indiana, Wisconsin, and Iowa. He took pride in doing his job well and lending a hand to every colleague.


Paul enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, and playing and teaching sports, especially basketball, bowling, golf, and softball.


Paul rarely missed the chance to show up for his grandchildren in every way. He showed compassion to every person he met and always looked out for the wellbeing of others and helped in any way possible. He was a blessing to those who had the pleasure of knowing him.


Paul is survived by his wife, Susan; daughters, Jessica (Dennis) Stainbrook and Nicole Hart; son, Jordan (Andrea) Hart; and grandchildren, Britney Stainbrook, Emilia Hart, Bradley Stainbrook and Andres Hart; sister, Loretta (Dean) Wilson; and niece, Liza Salzarulo. He was preceded in death by his parents.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, with Father Mark Foley presiding.
