Madison - Jeremiah “JJ” Johnson, age 14, of Madison, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026. Born on August 7, 2011, in Milwaukee, Wis., Jeremiah was the beloved son of Isaiah Johnson and Angela Humphrey. Though his life was far too short, he touched the hearts of many with his bright spirit, gentle nature, and joyful personality.
Jeremiah found happiness in the simple things he loved most. He enjoyed playing with toy cars, watching movies, practicing gymnastics, sled riding, and taking walks around the neighborhood with his foster parents, Romona Price and Kendall Karlen. Whether he was laughing during a favorite movie or spending time outdoors, Jeremiah brought joy to everyone around him.
Jeremiah is survived by his parents, Isaiah Johnson and Angela Humphrey; his foster parents, Romona Price and Kendall Karlen; his siblings, Jareya Mosley, Janea Mosley and Lincoln Mosley; and many relatives, friends, caregivers, and loved ones who will forever cherish his memory.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Jeremiah's caregivers: Danya, Ali, Carl, Abduhl, Will, Matim, Sirenity and Helica. Your kindness, patience, and dedication made a lasting difference in Jeremiah's life.
Special thanks are also extended to Andrea Lipper Davis, Children's Service Society, Fatuma and Wellpoint Children's Services, Family & Children's Society, Dr. Hauser, Dr. Carrie Barker at American Family Children's Hospital, and Fatuma Mohamad at WellPoint care of Milwaukee for their compassion, support, advocacy, and care throughout Jeremiah's journey.
Jeremiah's life, though brief, was filled with love, laughter, and moments that will be treasured forever. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Jeremiah’s life at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 12 noon on Thursday, June 4, 2026, followed by a 1 p.m. graveside service at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK, Monona.
