BLACK EARTH - Michael Scott Fosshage, age 39, of Black Earth passed away unexpectedly at his home Sunday, May 10, 2026. He was born on March 24, 1987, in Madison, Wis., to Scott and Donna Fosshage. Mike was raised in Black Earth and attended Wisconsin Heights Schools, graduating high school in 2005. He then went on to MATC for welding and later became a journeymen steamfitter. For many years Mike was a valued employee at Precision Tactical where he enjoyed helping customers, sharing his knowledge, and building connections with those around him.
Michael was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and uncle. His family always came first. Mike was known for always checking in and helping whenever needed. Michael enjoyed snowmobiling, riding his ATV/UTV, hunting, farming, history, trips to Crandon and especially cherished time with his family and friends. Connecting with people was Michael’s special gift. He had a big heart, kind soul, welcoming smile, wicked sense of humor and a personality that could light up a room the moment he walked in.
Michael is survived by his mother, Donna; brother, Kyle (Jade) Fosshage; niece, Scottie Jean Fosshage; grandmother, Louise Fosshage; uncles, Darrell (Mary) Walser, Paul (Barb) Fosshage and Tim (Melissa) Fosshage; cousins, Melissa (Alan) Ramsden, Myhia (Tom) Chapman, Amber (Ben) VanFossen and Katharine Fosshage; along with many extended relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Scott; maternal grandparents, Harris (Helen) Walser; paternal grandfather, Kenneth Fosshage; and cousin, Kenny Fosshage.
The family would like to thank the First responders for all their professionalism, care and compassion.
A memorial service will be held at MIDLAND UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 10235 County Road KP, Mazomanie, at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 22, 2026. A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON CAMACHO BLACK EARTH FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1710 Center St., Black Earth, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
Mike’s life was a blessing, he was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
