Obituary

MIDDLETON - Laveta Helen Lesniak, age 90, of Middleton, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on June 25, 1935, in Loganville, Wis., the daughter of Harold “Harry” and Helen (Luetkens) Hahn.


Laveta attended St. John’s Parochial School in Loganville and later graduated from Reedsburg High School in 1953, followed by her training at Madison General Hospital School of Nursing. She went on to work at several hospitals in Madison throughout her nursing career, where she found particular joy and fulfillment caring for newborns in the neonatal unit.


On January 17, 1959, she was united in marriage to B. Lawrence “Larry” Lesniak in Loganville, Wis.  During their 39 years together, they enjoyed raising two sons, Jim and Neil.


Laveta had a love for the outdoors, especially camping and taking trips to Devil’s Lake. She also cherished traveling the Midwest on bus tours. Known for her kindness and generosity, she was always ready to lend a helping hand and would gladly assist anyone in need. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her family.


Laveta is survived by her sons, James "Jim" (Michelle "Shelly" Armstrong) Lesniak and Neil Lesniak; and sister, Lovice Nicosia. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Larry.

Jim! Your mom and my dad (Willard Krueger married to LaVerne ) were cousins. Laveta and her sister Lovice were always so kind and caring.
