Obituary

STOUGHTON / OREGON - Kurt “Frito” Allen Knoble, age 61, of Stoughton, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Madison Health and Rehabilitation. He was born on June 13, 1964, in Boscobel, the son of Richard and Judith (Welsh) Knoble.

Kurt attended Boscobel High School through his junior year before moving with his family to Oregon where he graduated from Oregon High School in 1982. Though he relocated, Boscobel always held a special place in his heart.

Kurt began his career working for Welsh’s Concrete Foundation in Boscobel. In 1992 he started at Gary Brown Roofing in McFarland where he worked the majority of his life as superintendent until his retirement in 2017. While living in New Mexico, he owned K&J Home Remedies LLC in Rio Rancho.

Kurt had a passion for excitement and adventure-anything fast and adrenaline-filled quickly became a favorite. He enjoyed NASCAR racing (avid supporter of Dale Earnhardt Sr.), snowmobiling, four-wheeling, boating, and water skiing. A devoted Bears fan, he also loved dancing, golfing, hunting, and traveling to Mexico. Kurt took great pride in restoring classic trucks and was known as a true handyman, he could fix just about anything. Above all, Kurt cherished time with his family and never missed an opportunity to play Santa at family gatherings.

Kurt is survived by his daughter, Julie (Sean) D’Orazio; son, Cody Statz; father, Richard Knoble; sisters, Cheryl Knoble, Kathy Knoble and Michelle (Mike) Frederick; nieces, Lynn (Jon) Furlano and Courtney (Travis) Fletcher; and nephews, Travis Lindberg and Justin (Kaylee Litchfield) Frederick. He was preceded in death by his mother, Judith Knoble; and special aunt and uncle, Betty and Byron Freymiller.

In keeping with Kurt's wishes, no services will be held.

My sisters and I knew Kurt as "Bucket Ass". He was a friend of my dad's. I remember him coming to our house many times when we were younger. He was a funny guy and had a great mustache! So sorry to hear of his passing. Sending our deepest condolences to his family.

We met Kurt when we were neighbors on Eisenhower Street in Oregon. We brought home our first corvette in a cold, snowy day and before we could get in the garage Kurt was there! He loved cars for sure. He always made a point to talk to us anytime we saw him even though he moved away from Eisenhower Street years ago. We are so sorry for your loss. Bill & Helen Denson
