Obituary

MIDDLETON - Robin Nicole Brabender, age 36, of Sauk City, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. She was born on September 3, 1989, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Thomas and Kathy (Barrett) Wulff.

Robin graduated from Middleton High School in 2008 and continued her education at Madison College and Viterbo University. She completed the Registered Nursing program at Madison College in 2025 and was pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Viterbo University from 2025 to 2026.

Robin married Michael Brabender on October 11, 2014, on a beautiful sunny day at Paradise Park in Madison. On June 24, 2016, Robin and Mike welcomed the light of their life, their daughter, Sophia.

She devoted her life to healthcare, working at Dean Clinic from 2011 to 2025, where she began as a medical assistant and later became a registered nurse. She went on to serve as an ICU nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital, providing attentive, compassionate care to her patients. Robin was deeply committed to nursing and cared for others as if they were her own family. In all aspects of her life, she went above and beyond for both her patients and those she loved and she was known for her honesty and straightforward nature.

Robin had a natural connection with animals, especially her dogs, Peaches and Tank. She enjoyed traveling, beachcombing, collecting shells and swimming-especially with Sophia, reading, and interior design.

Robin is survived by her husband, Michael; daughter, Sophia Brabender; parents, Thomas and Kathy Wulff; brother, Andrew (Heidi) Wulff; nephews, Charlie Wulff and Miles Brabender; niece, Elodie Brabender; in-laws, Patti and Dan Brabender; two brothers-in-law, Matt (Lindsey) Brabender and Scott Brabender; and numerous aunts, uncles and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Tom and Fern Wulff and Dorothy and Arthur Barrett.

I’ll always remember the tiny little baby I kept when you were a few weeks old. You decided you wanted to take piano lessons so you walked down the street to my house. Remember your recitals? We will always remember when your family came to visit us in Colorado. Our dog Cody flew into your lap made you laugh so hard you cried! You’ve accomplished so much and worked so hard to be in an occupation of caring for others. Rest in peace dear Robin. 🎈

Our critical care community at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital has suffered a profound loss. Robin was a dedicated professional who brought not only exceptional skill, but also tremendous compassion to the care of our patients. Her absence will be deeply felt in our ICU, our work, and our hearts.
