Robert P. Newlun

MADISON - Robert P. “Rob” Newlun, age 55, of Madison, passed away at his home, on Friday, April 3, 2026, after his battle with cancer. He was born on September 12, 1970, in Madison, Wis., the son of Robert J. Newlun and Ruth (Daines) Wild.

Rob graduated from James Madison Memorial High School with the class of 1989. He enjoyed a career as a high-end finish carpenter and maintenance technician in the property management field. Rob enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved “adrenaline” pumping activities; one of his favorite expressions “It’ll never be dull.” Rob had many hidden talents, such as marksmanship, mushroom hunting and woodworking, which he had learned in his youth. Rob loved adventures on his motorcycle, and telling stories about the trips he made to Sturgis. Rob also enjoyed time spent with friends and family at the cabin near Viola, Wis., where many good memories were created.

Rob is survived by his children, Griffin (Makenzie) Newlun, Jessica Jo Newlun and Dylan Newlun; grandchildren, Myles and Thea Newlun, Jackson Salmon and Lillian Newlun; mother, Ruth Ann Wild (stepfather “Teeny” Eugene Wild); former wife, Anna E. Newlun; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert James Newlun.
