Obituary

OREGON - It is with sadness that we share that Carol Cupp passed away on April 5, 2026, at the age of 62, just weeks shy of what would have been her 42nd wedding anniversary with her beloved husband, Chuck - a milestone that spoke to the depth of her devotion and the love that anchored her life.

Born in Chicago and raised in Mauston, Wis., Carol found her forever home in Oregon, Wis., after she and Chuck married, and she never needed anywhere else. She was the kind of person who understood that home isn't just a place - it's the people you fill it with, and the traditions you build together to keep them close.

And traditions mattered deeply to Carol. Anniversary trips near Door County. Winter escapes to the Caribbean. And holidays at home with loved ones. She prioritized getting everyone together no matter the occasion to stay connected. She believed in showing up for the people she cherished, not just in the big moments, but in all the small, deliberate ways that quietly hold a family together.

For over 33 years, Carol faced cancer with a quiet courage and an unshakeable positivity that left everyone around her in awe. She never complained. She never turned inward. In any conversation about her health, she was far more interested in how *you* were doing than in her own struggle. Her stoicism wasn't a mask, it was simply who she was. Carol was a woman in constant, joyful motion. She walked at least 20,000 steps a day. A commitment to her health, for herself and family.

Her truest calling was her family: her spouse, two daughters, three grandchildren whom she adored with her whole heart, and even her granddogs, loved as if they were her own. She kept a home that was spotlessly cared for, a reflection of the warmth and intention she brought to everything she touched. Not once did anyone hear her say an unkind word about another person. She was always so supportive - of your choices, your opinions, your needs, your dreams - with no conditions.

She will be missed in ways that are difficult to put into words - in the quiet of a spotless home, in a long walk on a beautiful morning, in the warmth of a Caribbean breeze, in the familiar beauty of spring in Wisconsin. She leaves behind not just the memory of who she was, but a model for how to move through this world: with GRACE, with selflessness, and with an open and generous heart.

Carol would not want you to shed a tear while reading this, instead she would remind you that life is to be cherished and to treasure every moment in the present. And in Carol’s words, “have a wonderful day!"

Carol is survived by her husband, Charles; daughters, Jessica (Jameson Kronser) Cupp and Aneysha Cupp; grandchildren, Mara, Charlie and River Kronser; brothers, Rich (Tina) Koziol and Mark (Jennifer) Chesney; sisters, Donna Goetzke and Ann (Rob) June; brother-in-law, Paul Goetzke and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grace and Donald Koziol.

The family is planning a couple of different celebrations of life in the near future. Please reach out to them for details. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

I worked with Carol for many years and she was always an inspiration. She always had a smile to share and time to talk and ask how you were. It was clear that she loved and honored her family and enjoyed life with all its twists and turns. I will dearly miss her.

I remember Carol from day one when I started working at EDS. Always smiling. Always positive. She never wasted an opportunity to talk about her family--you could tell how very much she loved them. I navigated a number of rough patches, both personally as well as professionally, and I don't think I ever told Carol how much I appreciated her being a source of warmth and genuine kindness every single day I was in the office. I feel lucky to have been in her orbit as long as I was. Remember not how the star has fallen, but how brightly it shown.

This obituary is a great tribute to a strong woman. Anyone fighting cancer will do well by taking a "page from her book". What a fighter she was. Never complained, always a positive attitude. Always a smile for you. Always a good word for and about all. Anyone walking in her shoes, has their work cut out for them....those 20,000 steps a day didnt come easy. But Carol always made it look like it was just another walk in the park.. The neighborhood has lost another of our great ones.
