MADISON - Becky Green, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 21, 2026. Born in Waterloo, Becky spent her early years building lifelong friendships and strong values that would guide her throughout her life.
Becky attended St. John's Lutheran School for elementary and middle school and later graduated from Waterloo High School, where she was active in cross country and cheerleading from 1988 to 1991. She continued her education at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, earning her bachelor’s degree in social work. During her college years, she continued participating in cheerleading, reflecting her lifelong energy, discipline, and team spirit.
Becky devoted her professional life to serving youth and families. Her work included roles at Eau Claire Academy, Community Adolescent Programs, Community Partnerships, YMCA of Dane County, and Mentoring Positives, where she continued her commitment to helping young people thrive.
Becky shared 24 years of marriage with her husband, Will Green, whom she married in 2002. Together they built a relationship rooted in love, trust, and mutual respect. They deeply valued one another, always making space for each other’s voices to be heard and honoring one another through every season of life. Their love was strengthened through partnership, friendship, and a shared commitment to family and service.
Together, Will and Becky raised two beautiful daughters, Malia Green (22), and Skylar Green (11), whom they loved deeply and intentionally. Family was at the center of Becky’s life, and she and Will worked hard to create a home where each person felt heard, respected, supported, and loved. They also opened their hearts and home as foster parents to teenage boys for seven years, offering guidance, stability, and compassion during important seasons of life.
Becky is survived by her husband, Will Green; daughters, Malia and Skylar; her mother, Geri Springer; stepfather, JR Springer; twin brother, Brian Ludeman; brother, Greg Ludeman; step-sisters, Crystal and Amber; step-mother, Cindy; and many beloved aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, extended family members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Ludeman.
A celebration of Becky’s life will be held at ONE CITY SCHOOL, 1707 W. Broadway, Madison, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026. Visitation will be held at the school from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. You are encouraged to wear something yellow, as that was Becky's favorite color.
Becky found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments-spending time with family, cheering at her daughters’ basketball games, reading books, doodling, working out, visiting the beach, watching beautiful sunsets, and enjoying what she lovingly considered one of life’s greatest gifts: a good nap.
Her kindness, quiet strength, and caring spirit touched many lives, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
From Will, Malia, and Skylar:
We will forever carry Becky’s love, strength, and beautiful spirit with us. She was the heart of our family, and the love she gave so freely will continue to guide us every day. We will miss her deeply, cherish every memory, and honor her by living with the same kindness, compassion, and grace that she shared with everyone around her.
In honor of Becky’s lifelong commitment to youth, family, and community, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Mentoring Positives (https://mentoringpositives.org/Donate) in lieu of flowers. Contributions will help continue the work she cared deeply about-supporting young people through mentoring, leadership, and opportunity.
