We were saddened to hear of the death of Pat. He put up a good fight. We were lucky to be neighbors of your family on Nygaard St. Our girls still say it was the best Street in Oregon. I had the good fortune to be a co-worker and friend of your mom at Prairie View Elementary. My fondest memory is I was the first one , other than your dad of course, to know that Ryan was on the way. Our sympathy to you and your families.

I was quite small, maybe 7 / 8 or so, when Pat challenged me to my first game of cribbage, and being the patient teacher that he was, we managed to enjoy a game. The memory has stuck with me all these years—sitting on the shag floor on a sunny afternoon, learning to count by 15s. May your many memories of Pat bring you peace and comfort with time. I am sorry for your loss. Sending all of Pat’s loved ones my sympathies during this difficult and tender time. May his loving example continue to lead you as you honor him, each in your own way.
