Obituary

MADISON - Isabelle A. “Izzy” McKellar

From the moment Izzy was born, she always had a special spark to her. No one could make her sister, Victoria, or her brother, Joshua, laugh like she could. Even as a baby, she could have her whole family cracking up. As a little girl, Izzy would throw together the most random, mismatched outfits, but somehow it would work, and she would look so cute. This just spoke to the creativity that ran through her. She could make something beautiful out of the most ordinary things. Whether it was clothes, makeup, a canvas, or a moment, it was beautiful because she was in it.

Izzy was an extraordinary artist. She was talented beyond her years, and she would amaze people with her creativity. The only thing bigger than her talent was her heart. She would go out of her way to make sure others felt included and thought of their feelings before her own. Izzy had a special way of making others feel seen, oftentimes reaching out to support those who were struggling. She felt emotions deeply but loved fiercely.

Izzy is survived by her father, James McKellar, mother, Cynthia Cardona; sister, Victoria McKellar; brother, Joshua McKellar; paternal grandmother, Janet McKellar; maternal grandfather, Alberto Cardona; maternal grandmother, Gladys Crespo; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Richard McKellar; and maternal great grandparents, William Vargas and Amelia Vargas.

Izzy will forever be deeply loved by her family and friends. She will always be with us as we live in her honor. A private family event will be held.

If you ever feel the need to reach out to old friends please please do it before it’s too late. Tell them you miss them, tell them you’re thinking about them, talk about your childhood memories, all the laughs and giggles, the makeovers, all the concerts you sang, the wildly inappropriate songs we definitely shouldn’t have been singing in 6th grade or the silly toddler songs we screamed on the swing sets during recess. Reminisce on the times we got in trouble together, the times where our families literally had to separate us because we were bad influences on eachother. You were my first best best friend when I moved to waunakee. Our friendship was one of those things where we saw eachother on the first day of school and instantly became inseparable for years. I love you so so much Izz and I’m so sorry I didn’t reach out when I wanted to.
