Lodi - Judith L. Buchanan, 82, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Dove Healthcare.
She was born November 8, 1943, in Portage, Wis., the daughter of the late Charles and Betty (Bartholomew) Krueger. Judy graduated from Lodi High School in 1961. On July 22, 1967, she married Philip Buchanan, who preceded her in death in 1999.
Judy spent her working life with a steady, practical devotion to her community. She was employed with Ray-O-Vac until its closing and later various other jobs. Known for her quiet dependability, Judy cared for others both on the job and through volunteer service.
She loved her riding lawn mower, on which you would probably find her if you were looking. Judy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved going out for dinner-Red Lobster was a favorite destination-and she took great pride in volunteering her time to Reach Out Lodi making pies and participating in events. Judy was always up for a game of euchre, especially "loner hands" and lending a hand to anyone in need.
In addition to her husband Phil, she was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Warren. She will be remembered by many friends and neighbors who appreciated her steady smile, generosity, and community spirit.
A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON LODI FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 157 S. Main St., Lodi, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026, with Rev. Dietrich Gruen presiding. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
