Obituary

LODI-Daniel S. Parks, age 79, of Lodi, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

He was born on April 10, 1946, the son of the late Norman and Frances (Gilchrist) Parks. A 1964 graduate of Lodi High School, Daniel proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was employed for many years with ALKAR, Inc., where he worked until his retirement.

Daniel was an active member of his community. He belonged to the Lodi Historical Society, Turning Point USA, Judicial Watch, CPAC, and was a lifelong member of the Republican Party. He was an honorary member of the Disabled American Veterans and served as past president of Garden Bluff Cemetery. He loved Lodi and gave freely of his time to causes and organizations he believed in.

A musician at heart, Daniel enjoyed camping, tending his yard, playing his guitar, performing with his band, and teaching music to children. He took great pleasure in sharing his love of music and in lively conversations about politics and community affairs.

He is survived by his sister, Jane (Gerald) Quam; his longtime partner Dan Dublin, his nephew, Richard (Jean) Parks; and his nieces: Diane (Mike) Crawford, Nancy (Ken) Pales, Susan Atkinson (Mike Boden), Wanda Glubka, Patti (Ron) Wenger, Tammy Dolphin (Todd Emerson), Tracy (Matt) Jesse, Sara (Scott) Stoltenberg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Norman (Judith) Parks Jr., Marion Parks, and Raymond (Jacquline) Parks.

Dan loved living life. He was in constant motion, working on projects (mostly outdoors) and often helping out a neighbor. I remember when, with the help of his nephew and others, he placed those really big rocks in his front yard. Whew!! 😅 Dan was also really good at staying in touch with friends. I will miss our getting together for lunch and catching up. Well Done Dan!!!
