Obituary

OREGON - Robert Allen “Bob” Strand, 64, of Oregon, Wisconsin, passed away on March 2, 2026.

Born on June 17, 1961, in Madison, Wisconsin, Bob built a life defined by hard work, dedication, and a deep love for his family. On June 19, 1982, he married his rock and the love of his life, Lisa. Together they built a beautiful life and a strong, loving marriage filled with laughter, loyalty, and unwavering support for one another. Side by side, they raised two beautiful and confident daughters, Brittany and Lauren, who were a constant source of pride and joy for him. Bob was as strong and determined as they come, a man whose quiet strength, steady presence, and deep devotion to those he loved will never be forgotten.

By the age of 30, Bob earned the distinction of Certified Master Carpenter - an accomplishment that reflected both his talent and determination. He continued working in construction throughout his life, carrying a true passion for building and creating. Bob took immense pride in his work, leaving behind not only structures, but a legacy of skill, integrity, and hard work. He didn’t just build structures he built a life.

Outside of work, Bob could often be found on the golf course, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, the Wisconsin Badgers, or holding court in the kitchen or at the grill. A devoted cook and self-appointed grill master, he took real pride in his craft, and his love of good food and cold beer was something friends and family came to count on. He had an energy about him that filled every room he walked into.

In his later years, it was his grandchildren who brought out the most unguarded version of Bob. Easton, Wyatt, Colton, Walter, and Evelyn could melt him in a way that no one else could, and the adoration was written all over him.

He is survived by his beloved wife and rock, Lisa; his daughters, Brittany (Paul) Johnson and Lauren (Jesse) Dettmer; his cherished grandchildren, Easton, Wyatt, Colton, Walter, and Evelyn; and his sister, Sherrie (Linda). He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and DeLane Strand; and his in laws, Lyle and Arline Mickelson.

Join us for one last round with Bob at EVANSVILLE COUNTRY CLUB, 8501 N. Cemetery Road, Evansville, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember a man who meant so much to so many. Casual attire.

Bob will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his steady presence, generous heart, and the love he built into everything he touched.

We would like to thank the Carbone Cancer Center and staff for all of their compassion and support over the past year. In lieu of flowers we are asking for donations towards a memorial that will be at Evansville Country Club or a donation to UW Carbone Cancer Center.

My girls were friends with Bob and Lisa’s girls and we got to know Bob and Lisa through those friendships. Bob adored all his girls and was a standup kind of guy! He brought love and laughter to us all! It was an honor knowing him! My sincere condolences to the family! Sending love and healing prayers, Beth Daoust-Miller
