Jane M Roberts

Mount Horeb - Jane Marie Roberts, age 62, of Mount Horeb, took flight to heaven on Sunday, March 1, 2026, from home surrounded by family. She was born on February 10, 1964, in La Crosse, Wis., the daughter of Tom Schultz and Patricia (Riniker) Mahin.

Jane graduated from Holmen High School in 1982. She went on to obtain an Associate’s Degree as a medical assistant, working in the OB-GYN field for Dean Health System and Physicians for Women.

She married Dan Roberts on June 17, 1989, in Onalaska, WI. Together, raising four boys, they built a wonderful life of 36 years. Jane’s beauty, grace and ability to maintain an immaculate clean house during these years was unmatched.

If Jane wasn’t cleaning, shopping or redecorating, you could find her at the river. This was truly her happy place. Here, she enjoyed hosting family and friends with morning mimosas, afternoons on the boat, and evenings gazing at the moon. Granny also never forgot to make time for ice cream at the marina, race out front to watch the train come through and was always on the lookout for barge boats. During the winters, Jane loved to travel to warmer climates, Bahamas being her favorite destination with the crystal clear, blue waters.  

Though our hearts are heavy losing the family pillar, Jane will always be remembered for the fierce love and pride she had for her family. She was a constant in every life she touched, and her thoughtfulness shined through even in her last moments. We are grateful for the memories Jane gave us all and will continue to create many more in her honor.

Jane is survived by her husband, Dan; four sons, Patrick (Melanie) Mathews, Christopher (Hannah) Roberts, Chad (Kari) Mathews and Jesse (Marina) Roberts; four granddaughters, Jada, Raelyn, Sloane and Jordan; three grandsons, Forrest, Harrison and Lincoln; mother, Patricia (Jan) Mahin; brother, Chris Schultz; and sister, Lisa (Brad) Bray. She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Schultz.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
