JANESVILLE - Carl E. Brey passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Evansville Manor. He was born on March 5, 1940, in the Panama Canal Zone, the son of Maximus and Blanche (Buchholtz) Brey.
Carl graduated from Pius XI High School in 1958. He was united in marriage to Jessica Weeks on September 24, 1976, in Madison.
Carl was a man of many passions. A loyal supporter of the Packers and Badgers, he embraced the spirit of Wisconsin sports. His love for music shone through his guitar playing and the lessons he offered to others. Carl was dedicated to his faith and actively served within the Catholic churches in Stoughton and Janesville. He enjoyed games and cards, shared his time teaching soccer, and contributed his talents to the Sun Prairie Civic theater community.
Carl is survived by his daughters, Cassondra (Christopher) Erickson, Cindy (Jim) Brey, Destiny (Stephen) Jennings and Brigette (Ben) Howell; sons, Charles (Debra) Brey and Pete Meridian; and brother, Leon Brey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maximus and Blanche; wife, Jessica; and son, Jon Brey.
