My life was enriched knowing Al via our work together at the Overture Center. He was a great guy. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Al was such wonderful human being! He was a a bright and joyful light at Overture and gave generously of his time and energy. He was known for going out with a shovel before school shows and making sure that the curbs were clear for the buses dropping off students. He gave the best ghost tours for his Overture family and always stepped in if we were short staffed for a show. I loved talking about bike riding with him and enjoyed seeing him riding around town. He will be greatly missed and no one could ever fill the hole he leaves behind.

Al West meant so much to Overture Center. Over many years—first as a dedicated volunteer and later as a Lead Usher—Al embodied everything we hope for in our culture. He showed up every day with warmth, generosity, and a genuine care for people. Whether he was welcoming guests, leading tours, or supporting performances, Al modeled what it means to serve with kindness, professionalism, and heart. His presence made Overture a better place, and his impact will be felt long after his time with us. He will be deeply missed by our staff and by the countless patrons who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him. Rest in peace, Al. Deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones.
