Mary Lou was my Portuguese professor for many classes in the 90s. Later, she befriended my mother in law, and was kind and giving to the end. Vai com Deus Professora! 🙏🏼🕊️❤️

I sang with Mary in the Choral Union's alto section. What a terrific lady. She was also a fan of lutefisk, I discovered, when she found the lutefisk served at my church's dinner was not up to her standards. What a beautiful picture, I remember her joyous smile.

I met Mary Lou through my husband, Don, who was a member of the East High School class of 1954. She was always so welcoming at their class reunions and we often chatted about our love for languages and music. She was an inspiration as she continued to play her cello in the MSO for many years!
Blessed be her memory!

I am so sorry to hear of Mary Lou’s passing and send condolences to her dear family. I had her as my Portuguese teacher in the latter 60’s and remember how much fun the classes were. Her ready smile and gleeful laugh made learning a joy for all of her students! And she knew everything about everything. What a mind and talent. I will miss her presence in this world, but her spirit is always with me. Muito obrigado. Jim Senn
